Gaelic Song Milling Frolic Workshop

Thursday, July 22, 2010 - 1:45pm - 4:00pm
Vancouver Island University--Cafeteria

The early Scottish Highland settlers that came to Cape Breton brought their song traditions with them when they "waulked" the  cloth,  singing as they milled it around  table.

This is a social and musical occasion still recreated in today's Cape Breton.  Mary Jane Lamond will lead this event, which is a "sing after me" format in a group seated around a table. There is no experience necessary in either song or Gaelic. It is the purest of oral traditions, and a lot of fun.  Vancouver Island University Cafeteria.

It is best to pre-order your ticket to reserve your place as space is limited.
